In its Back to School Swap Shop – which is running at the brand’s Dubai and newly launched Ras Al Khaimah stores until September 4th – Eggs & Soldiers is offering AED 20 of store credit to anyone bringing in one or more second-hand school items in working order. The family-run business, led by lifelong UAE-resident and mother of four, Sofi Chabowski, has teamed up with Heather Harries and her selfless pandemic-born community Stop & Help, who will ensure the used school supplies are gifted to local families in need.
"The AED 20 credit is really just a token gesture from Eggs & Soldiers, and perhaps a little push to get families thinking ‘we should do that’," explains Sofi. "We are so grateful for the wealth of donations already received, and our parents are very happy to know the perfectly useable items their own children may have simply outgrown or become bored of, will be passed to children that need them. We also want to sway parents away from the largely plastic storage items that are promoted as children head back to school – instead offering them a discount on the more sustainable ones we’ve sourced for the stores."
